The Dahara are volcanic creatures native to the wastes of Targash — lean, heat-based scavengers with molten hearts and hides that mimic cracked lava terrain.
Their name derives from the Sanskrit "Dahana" — combustion. The Burning Ones.
Their hearts are not merely organs. Heart size correlates directly to emotional bonds: a mare with a foal develops a larger, hotter heart. The matriarch, Hridagni — carries the greatest heart in the herd. Only she can spit fire.
Water is lethal. Rain cools the molten core to stone, and the creature collapses. Survival depends entirely on the herd — bodies pressed together, heat shared, hearts kept burning.
